The IHSE Indian Heritage in Digital Space exhibition (Jan 15- Feb 23, 2020) at the National Museum, New Delhi presented the spectacular exhibits of the Indian Digital Heritage (IDH) translational projects. These were driven by innovative AI, AR, VR and IOT technologies developed by IIT-Delhi, IIT-Mumbai, NID Bengaluru, CSIR-CBRI Roorkee, KSCST, the startup Vizara Technologies, IIACD and its technology partner FlippAR. These exhibits can be viewed in this video.
IIACD’s Lepakshi Vijayanagara Murals and Kiratrajuniya augmented reality (AR) postcards exhibit was co-created in collaboration with FlippAR. The symposium attendees and visitors to the exhibition appreciated the idea of AR postcards to democratize access to the rich heritage content that was delivered through the FlippAR app. Democratized since access to a mobile device (smart phone, tablet) and the internet is all that is required, in any location, to enjoy the (AR) postcard exhibits. This innovative translational project was founded on the content research and technologies developed by IIACD during the 2010-2017 Indian Digital Heritage (IDH) project of the Department of Science and Technology. The curation, animation and editing of the AR content for the postcards exhibit was recent R & D work of our CHATS team.
